Focus of Attention Tracking

Focus of Attention Tracking: This work demonstrated for the first time, that tracking of human attention by tracking the head rotation of a human subject is possible. A real-time face tracker combined with a neural net based detection of head rotation was able to estimate the direction of gaze and thus of focus of attention (Stiefelhagen PhD , papers).  The idea was further developed under EC-FP7 IP CHIL  in pursuit of a better understanding of human intentions and attention in human meeting environments. FoA was optimized by several research groups under joint competitive evaluations (CLEAR Workshop )
